– attenuation placed between two connectors
– the assembly, otherwise, looks like a cable assembly
– duplex cable assembly is available
– typically, connects two different pieces of equipment
Loopback
– attenuation placed between two connectors
– the connectors are parallel attached to each other, and are used with a duplex in-line adapter or bulkhead adapter
– simplex cable assembly, only
– typically, connects the transmit/receive pair of a transceiver
